ISEQ rises on back of banks’ recovery

The main banks recovered somewhat from last Friday’s profit-taking with Anglo Irish Bank posting the largest gain on the day rising 33 cent to €14.67, while AIB and Bank of Ireland both rose by 5 cent respectively.

Irish Life & Permanent continued their gradual increase in value, 2% in the session, closing at €12.80, up a sizeable 26 cent.

Shares in CRH were off the pace at €19.28, down 2 cent. Cement producer Cemex reported strong Q3 results which indicates a better second-half for the heavyweight.

House-builder McInerney was also lack-lustre losing 5 cent to €5.90.
