Employers push for a ‘knowledge economy’

EMPLOYERS group IBEC has called on the Government to increase spending on enterprise-led training to €20 million a year to speed up Ireland’s transformation to a knowledge-based economy.

An IBEC survey shows employers are taking practical steps to move Ireland towards being “a knowledge economy”.

IBEC director of human resources Brendan McGinty has urged the Government to be more proactive in taking measures to support this essential move in how the Irish live and work.
