WORKERS at Independent Newspapers have one more day to vote on whether to take industrial action over the company’s plans to introduce 205 voluntary redundancies.

The company are seeking 205 redundancies from its administration and clerical staff in a cost-cutting move. They have so far received 190 applications for the redundancy package, which a spokesman said was “extremely generous”.

However, workers say they are furious about the way in which it has been introduced.
