Licensing law branded ‘anti-family’

OUR new licensing law, aimed at curbing under-age drinking, was branded as “anti-family” yesterday.

Justice Minister Michael McDowell’s measure bans under-18s from licensed premises after 9pm, even if they are there with their parents.

This will have a bigger impact on the hospitality industry than the more recent smoking ban, according to Hotel & Catering Review magazine.
