Market continues to gain ground

ANOTHER buoyant day for the ISEQ index yesterday saw the Dublin market rise for the fourth consecutive day, up 56.03 to 6121.82.

The financial sector was a major factor in the rise, with leader AIB gaining 9c to close at 16.38. Bank of Ireland ended 26c stronger at €12.71, while Anglo-Irish and Irish Life & Permanent also grew by 18c and 15c respectively.

Construction giants CRH climbed 27c to close at €20.66. Grafton added 12c to rest at €9.17. However, Kingspan and McInerney lost ground, dropping 2c and 10c respectively.
