FÁS is to get an extra €28 million to boost the in-company training of thousands of workers.

It is expected that Finance Minister Brian Cowen will unveil the increase in FÁS spending when he unveils the Books of Estimates for 2005 later today.

It is believed the move will open up further fresh opportunities in the private sector for training and education companies to provide FÁS funded training schemes.
