Fat cats' cash 'makes blood boil'

BOSSES on €1 million a year salaries make employees' blood boil when they go on to preach the benefits of wage restraint and belt tightening to low-paid workers, the bank workers' union said last night.

Irish Bank Officials Association general secretary Larry Broderick last night set down a marker for the support of IBOA's 18,000 finance workers for today's talks on a new national agreement.

"It galls the hundreds of thousands of Irish workers in the private sector who, through their endeavours, see their businesses doing extremely well from increased productivity and yet they receive virtually no reward.
