STOCK markets have rallied since the US election removed uncertainty about the succession stakes to the presidency of the most powerful economy in the world.

In the past week, European markets have hit their highest levels in more than two years and the Irish market has hit the highest levels since August 2001.

European stock markets have hit two-year highs while gains elsewhere have also been the norm.
