Market bucks trend to finish in red

THE ISEQ index fell for a second consecutive day. Bourses around Europe finished in positive territory, but the Irish market closed 19.35 points weaker at 5972.06.

Market bucks trend to finish in red

The financial stocks were all weaker, the sector losing 36.93 points overall. AIB shed 5c to €16.17 while Anglo-Irish fell 15c to €19.25. Bank of Ireland and IL&P closed down at €12.19 and €13.45 respectively.

In construction CRH lost 12c to €19.88, Grafton Group shed 5c and McInerney finished softer at €8.10. On the upside Kingspan gained 19c to €9.70.
