Supervalu lists organic chicken

SuperValu announced yesterday that it has listed Ballinree Irish organic freerange chicken, for supply to its 180 independent supermarkets nationally.

It said demand for organic fresh meat and poultry is growing, and the Ballinree product, supplied by the Good Herdsmen company in Cahir, Co Tipperary, proved to have an initial annual retail value of around €100,000.
