Market rises as focus on war wanes

WITH investors’ attention continuing to focus more on corporate earnings and less on the conflict in the Middle East, indices across Europe continued further into positive territory.

Shares in Dublin added value with the financials providing the main thrust. The ISEQ index closed 49.98 points higher at 4116.40.

Hewlett Packard added 2.56% to €10.40. Allied Irish Bank gained 14c to €13.26 and Anglo Irish Bank added 11c to €6.66. CRH finished 21 cent firmer at €13.50 while Kingspan gained at €2.00, up 4.17%.
