AIB adds 18 cent to finish on 12.70

THE Irish market was up 3.44 points to finish the day at 5452.89 on very thin trading.

AIB adds 18 cent to finish on 12.70

Drug maker Elan dropping a sizeable 69c to €20.20.

The financials were mixed with AIB being the main contributor to the market’s afternoon rally, they added 18c to finish strongly on €12.70. In contrast, Bank of Ireland in were weak at €10.90, shedding 1c. Irish Life and Permanent dropped 25c to €12.30 even after their recently published positive trading statement, investors offloading their shares being a cause of decline.
