German industrial production rises

German industrial production rose for a second month in May, led by goods such as factory machinery, as a worldwide economic recovery boosts demand for products made in Europe’s largest economy.

Production at factories, construction sites, utilities and mines increased 1.1% from April, when it rose 1.4%, the Economics and Labour Ministry said in a faxed statement.

Economists predicted a gain of 0.2%, according to the median of 38 forecasts in a Bloomberg News survey.
