Drop in number of jobs advertised

THE latest Bank of Ireland Business Banking Job Index shows a 5% drop in the number of jobs advertised in October.

Some 16,920 recruitment advertisements were placed in the national daily and Sunday newspapers in October.

The bank said the decline follows the “exceptionally” strong month of September which recorded the highest recruitment demand levels since the index was launched in March 2002.
