Financials lead market higher

SHARES in Dublin continued their positive momentum yesterday, boosted by a strong performance from the financials and other market heavyweights.

The ISEQ index ended the day up 41.36 points at 5383.50.

With over 3.6 million shares traded, Bank of Ireland strengthened 32c to €10.60 while AIB was up 13c to €12.70. Anglo Irish Bank added 20c while Irish Life and Permanent bucked the positive trend, down 7c to €13.90.
