Factory gate prices rise slightly in July

IRISH factory gate prices eased by 0.3% in July but were up 0.2% on an annual basis, the CSO said yesterday. Producer prices rose by 1.6% month-on-month in June but were 0.3% weaker than the same month last year.

Most significant falls in July were 1.1% in office machinery and computers and 1% in pharmaceuticals and chemicals.

The price of energy products rose by 17% in the year to July, with petroleum fuels up 26%.
