‘Bland’ first offering from Cowen

FIRST indications from Finance Minister Brian Cowen is that the 2005 Budget will stay well within conservative limits.

By keeping his spending targets to close to 8% on the current side or €2.5 billion extra, the minister is being conservative.

Total spending across all public services next year will be €43.6bn.
