2.5% global economy growth may be optimistic

DAVY stockbrokers analyst Robby Kelleher said yesterday that 2.5% growth in the global economy would be the “upper” end of his expectations for the next couple of years.

He was speaking after the Bank of England cut its growth predictions for the next two years to around 2.5%.

The BOE said the threat of war on Iraq had greatly clouded the outlook for the British economy.
