Market moves higher in late trading

SHARES in Dublin were in the red for most of the day's trading, but by the end the ISEQ was up 22.11 at 6064.02.

The main financial stocks were mixed. Bank of Ireland added 14c to €11.62, while Allied Irish Bank was unchanged at €14.38 with just over one million shares changing hands. Anglo Irish Bank slipped 5c to €16.00, while Irish Life & Permanent finished weaker at €13.42.

Pharmaceutical company Elan rose 5c to €23.05.
