Bargain-hunters push market higher

THE ISEQ index climbed for the second consecutive day yesterday as investors sought out bargains. The Dublin market rose 6.28 points to 6719.35.

AIB gained 19c to close at €17.70, while Bank of Ireland rose 8c to €12.90. Irish Life & Permanent added 10c and Anglo Irish remained unchanged at €10.95.

In construction Grafton climbed 12c to €8.55. Kingspan added 15c to €10.75, but CRH fell back 11c to €21.95.
