Bank customers hit by error

AROUND 60,000 Bank of Ireland customers were affected by a payment error earlier this week, the bank said yesterday.

It mistakenly processed 130,000 electronic payments twice, worth millions of euro.

Customers affected include those who pay bills by direct debit or those whose salaries are paid directly into their bank accounts. Anyone with queries should contact their branch or call 1890 365365.
