Challenges ahead for economy

Ireland has gone from 70% of the EU average in 1990 to 103% in 2002 in terms of Gross National Product (GNP) per person.

But to continue the success story Ireland must face up to the many challenges ahead, Forfás chief executive Martin Cronin told a debate on Ireland’s Competitiveness at the annual conference of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Cork yesterday.
