THE Irish Bank Officials Associations (IBOA) says it will not enter into another national pay agreement without increased job protection for its members.

The IBOA will tell its members at a special conference later today that it believes that with an increased tendency towards outsourcing of non-core activities in the finance industry, it is imperative that legislation is put in place to safeguard a union’s legislative right to collective bargain on behalf of its members.

The IBOA was embroiled in a dispute with Bank of Ireland during the summer over its plans to outsource its technology division to Hewlett Packard.
