Esat BT wins €5m Primark contract

Esat BT has been awarded a €5 million contract by retail group Primark to deliver a communications network that will allow the running of voice and data across the same network and the removal of telephone lines.

Primark said it will make substantial cost savings on its voice calls through the introduction of an internet protocol (IP) virtual private network (VPN) to carry both voice and data traffic.

The retailer said the managed service will enable it to consolidate its applications onto a single network while prioritising its traffic across its 118 stores in Ireland and Britain.
