ISEQ index adds 23.70 points

The ISEQ index opened the week higher, in tandem with European indices. Despite the US market closing for a bank holiday, good volumes were reported as the Irish index added 23.70 points to close at 3910.03.

Main movers on the day were Elan climbing 4.86%, pacing gains made by European counterparts for a second successive day. Ryanair added value amid reports it may pull out of Shannon.

Construction stocks failed to impress, with sector giant CRH the only mover into positive territory.
