Mobile operator in numbers’ move

MOBILE phone customers who switch to new operator 3 can keep their existing numbers from this week, the company said yesterday.

The new third generation operator, which offers extra services such as video calling and the ability to download video clips, opened for business earlier this year but had been unable to offer mobile number portability (MNP), which meant new customers were forced to drop their old numbers when they switched and take a new 083 number instead.
