CONTINUING uncertainty and ongoing weakness in the international economy has pushed down manufacturing output for the fourth successive month.

Data released yesterday in the NCB Purchasing Managers’ Index showed that the manufacturing economy slowed further, declining from 49.1 in December to 48.8 last month.

While the fall was marginal, it continued to raise doubts about the economy’s ability to pull out of the current slump.
