Cost of British goods increases

The cost of goods leaving British factories rose in September at the fastest annual pace in more than eight years after the price of metals and oil jumped.

Producer prices rose a non-seasonally adjusted 3.1%, up from a revised 2.8% in August and the highest since April 1996, the statistics office in London said. On the month, prices increased 0.3%, compared with 0.4% in August.
