Market falls from three-year high

THE ISEQ index fell from a three-year high yesterday with Ryanair, Europe’s largest low-cost airline, declining as New York crude oil futures traded above $45 a barrel for the first time since December 1.

The index dropped 15.04, or 0.2%, to 6174.49 after yesterday reaching the highest since July 24, 2001. Fifteen stocks rose, 13 fell and 23 were unchanged. The ISEQ climbed 1% in the past five days, its third weekly gain.

Irish Life & Permanent fell 10 cent, or 0.7%, to €13.55 after the stock was cut to reduce from add by Goodbody Stockbrokers.
