Financial stocks in decline

THE ISEQ Index of shares closed marginally lower than Tuesday’s tally losing 59.66 points to 3983.14 points.

The financial sector performed poorly yesterday. Allied Irish Bank fell 25c to €12.60 as its main competitor Bank of Ireland lost 20c to €9.60.

Other financials to decline were Irish Life & Permanent down 27c to €10.00 and Anglo Irish 2c lower to €6.50.
