Swedish jobless rate falls

Sweden’s unemployment rate fell to 5% in September from 5.4% in August as the number of people in retraining programs increased, the National Labour Market Board said.

At the end of September, 224,000 Swedes were unemployed, down from 252,000 in August and 3,000 fewer people than a year earlier, the government agency said on its website.
