Reckless to ignore Asia, says Taoiseach

IGNORING investment and business opportunities in Asia would be reckless for the Irish economy, Taoiseach Bertie Ahern claimed yesterday.

Mr Ahern said the next five years’ Asia Strategy would focus on improving links in the Far East commercially and on a social and cultural level.

The Government revealed the scheme would target students wishing to study overseas and deepen business and political relations.
