The growth in funding for science and technology must be matched with business opportunities where that research can be commercialised, a leading academic conference heard yesterday.

Trinity College Professor John Murray told the Irish Academy of Management that more engagement between scholars, managers and policy- makers was vital to ensure policy and business strategy were well founded. The conference was attended by 350 people from more than 100 colleges in 28 countries.
