EU LEADERS including the Taoiseach came out against naming and shaming countries that are not working to reform their economies.

The proposal is one of the central suggestions made in a report presented to the summit meeting in Brussels yesterday that blamed national governments for Europe's failure to boost growth.

Bertie Ahern said comparing Europe's countries against one another was not very useful.
