Increase in number of new car sales

THE number of new cars on the road increased by 13.5% in May compared to the same month a year ago.

New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that more than 18,300 new cars were licensed in May, 2000 higher than in May 2004 and 3,000 more than in 2003.
