ANNUAL inflation notched up marginally from 3.1% in July to 3.2% in August, but economists dismissed the significance of the rise

A jump of 0.7% in the August monthly inflation was against the trend and it represented the strongest increase recorded by the Consumer Price Index since March of this year.

The markets had been expecting a modest decline, but analysts believe the recent falling trend will return promptly.
