Labour market hits record high

Enterprise Trade and Employment Minister Micheál Martin has welcomed the latest employment figures, which show the labour force has grown to a record 1.9 million workers.

“This Government is well on its way to achieving its ambition to effectively eliminate long-term unemployment, which is continuing to fall.

“These very positive figures clearly show that current Government policies are working extremely well and we will continue with the thrust of this successful approach,” Mr Martin said yesterday.
