No sign of sterling pressure being relieved as Brexit cliff-edge looms

Sterling came under downward pressure again over the summer when Theresa May quit as British prime minister.

Her replacement Boris Johnson is a leading eurosceptic who is looking to take the UK out of the EU at the end of October, with or without an exit deal. Thus, the risk of a no-deal Brexit has risen considerably.
