Teddy Holland appointed as new Cork manager

Teddy Holland has been appointed as Cork's new senior football manager following the resignation of Billy Morgan earlier this month.

Holland's appointment was ratified at a county board meeting last night.

Morgan stepped down earlier this month because of a decision by the board to prevent managers from picking their own selectors.

An attempt to overturn that rule is understood to have been defeated at last night's meeting, meaning the threat of strike action by Cork's inter-county players remains a possibility this morning.
