Wish List: Summer BBQs, ceramics and designer candles
looks at ceramics and notes that designer candles are back in stock at Aldi.
1. This gorgeous piece is the work of ceramicist Cormac Boydell. Based in Allihies, west Cork, Cormac works with terracotta clay, glazes and it’s hands-on with Cormac — he doesn’t use any tools when he’s creating his art. This piece is called Two Horses, it’s 38x34cm and is €400.

2. Exciting news for design lovers, The White Company are opening a new two-storey flagship store on Grafton Street in Dublin.
We’re talking luxurious bed and bath products, home accessories, like candles, tableware and vases, and award-winning beauty products, including their skincare, fragrance and bath and body ranges.
Seville Napkins (€28), tablecloth (€85), the striped tufted seat pad is €28, the Aubrey piped seat pads are €102 for a set of four and the Elgin wine glass is €8.

4. This stunning sculptural ensemble is Frances Lambe’s ‘Progression’. Lambe is a Dundalk-based artist and recently exhibited in the 50th-anniversary show of North Louth Artists in Dundalk’s An Táin Centre.
Lambe says her work springs from visual research into disparate areas of interest including geography, biology, botany and astronomy.

5. The Wild Design Collective in Paul Street, Cork, have these very cool Freda cushions on display at the moment.
They are handmade by Gina Carley of Devilish Desings and they really are beautiful. Yours for €28.

7. Candle lovers will be delighted to hear Aldi’s popular designer candles are back in stock. You’ll find fig and berry scents in full size, as well as rose in a votive three-set.

8. This is the handmade petal themed tray made by the Rwenzori Trading Company. It’s part of the Uganda Community Project that TK Maxx and Homesense are supporting.
Income from the baskets goes directly to the artisans to help pay for their children’s education.
