■ Skibbereen Flower & Garden Club is holding a Christmas demonstration with Bernadette Scanlan, Limerick, on November 27, in the West Cork Hotel Skibbereen at 8.15pm.

■ Christmas floral demonstration by Melanie Harris AOIFA on ‘Christmas Wishes’ takes place on Thursday, November 28, at Whitechurch Hall at 8pm. €5 members, €10 nonmembers. Refreshments and raffle

■ The Lough Flower and Garden Club presents ‘Jingle Jangle. A Gala Christmas Floral Demonstration’ by Candy Holten (AOIFA), at the SMA Parish Centre, Wilton (opposite the main entrance to the CUH) on Tuesday, November 26, at 8pm. Supporting: Field of Dreams, Curraheen, Down Syndrome, Cork. Tickets: €15 (including light refreshments.) Contact: Eleanor at 021-454 2664 or Peg at 086-409 4530.

■ Owenabue Garden & Flower club, Carrigaline, holds its Christmas gala (supporting Pieta House), on November 25, at 8pm in the C of I School Hall. Demonstrations will be given by Ann Slattery AOIFA. Entry €10, including refreshments.

■ Cork Alpine Hardy Plant Society hosts Annie Godfrey of Daisy Roots Nursery, Hertford, UK, in Northridge House, on Thursday, November 28, at 8pm. Annie, a garden designer and nursery owner, will speak on ‘Good in Bed’ where she will look at plants that have a particularly long interest in the garden and earn their keep. Plants for sale.

■ Christmas Open House in aid Marymount Hospice and the Alzheimers Day Care Bandon takes place at at Bride View Cottage, Killumney, Co Cork. Open on the evenings of Thursday to Sunday (November 21-24) with a repeat on November 28 to December 1. Thursday and Friday openings 6pm-10pm; Saturday and Sunday openings from noon-8pm. Carrigtwohill Flower & Garden Club is presenting Sandra Jackson on ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas’ gala night on Tuesday, November 26, in Carrigtwohill Community Hall at 8pm with festive refreshments. Admission €10.

■ Glenville Flower & Garden Club hosts its Christmas demonstration by Breda Keohane ‘Delights of the Christmas Season’ on Tuesday, November 26, in Kades Kounty, at 8pm.

■ Bantry Flower & Garden Club hosts a dinner and demonstration by Margaret Ahern, AOIFA, at Westlodge Hotel on Monday, December 2, at 6.30pm. Tickets €25, must be booked November 26 from Judith Payne 027 61022 or Mary Dillon 027 50985
