Wedding of the Week: Love spreads from Mallow to Moldova
Their romance took Laura Roset and Ken Mohally from Mallow to Moldova and back again.
Laura and Ken’s paths first crossed in Mallow in 2013 and four years later they got engaged while they were visiting Laura’s native Moldova.
The couple were enjoying a trip to the world-famous visitor attraction, the Cricova cellars, when he popped the question.
Now based in Mallow, they returned to Moldova in 2017 to tie the knot in Ciuflea church, in Laura’s home city, the capital Chisinau.

The newlyweds also held a ceremony in Cork Registry Office in recent weeks and celebrated with a reception in Springfort Hall Hotel in Mallow.
The newlyweds posed for acclaimed wedding photographer Fiona Fuller at local historic and scenic spots, including Mallow Castle, as well as at the reception venue.
“We celebrated the wedding with our close relations and friends,” said Laura.
“It was the best day of our lives.”

The flowers were purchased in Range while the bridal hairstyling was by the Belle Hair salon, Mallow.
Laura did her makeup herself and looked stylish in a dress sourced in Bride’s First Choice bridal boutique.
The couple’s two sons, Robert, four, and six-month-old Steven, took centre stage as pageboys while Laura’s daughter Denisa Roset, 12, was delighted to be the flower girl, as were Maebh and Treasa Sheehan.
“Our witnesses were my sister Irina and Ken’s father John,” added Laura.
By Laura’s side as bridesmaids were Irina Pascal, Chloe Fitzgerald and Lyndsey O’Donoghue, with Andy Fitzgerald, Ernestas Kuzma joining John Mohally on best-man duties.
