Ray Houghton becomes consultant for new soccer game

Ray Houghton has been signed up as a consultant for a new soccer game.

Championship Manager 4 is the latest in a series of football management simulations by Sports Interactive.

It will be released by Eidos Interactive on PC later this year, and an Xbox version is also planned.

Houghton said: "I first got to know the guys at Sports Interactive when I was an agent. I was aware of how accurate and exhaustive their database of players' stats was, and used to phone them for advice on signings.

Miles Jacobson from Sports Interactive added: "Ray's input makes us supremely confident that the next version of Champ Man is going to be the best and most accurate football management simulation ever."

Ray Houghton played for Liverpool and Ireland during his soccer career, and now provides football commentary for various TV stations.
