Marvel Comics artist Will Sliney to teach kids how to draw
Cork artist Will Sliney will be teaching kids how to draw this week.
The Marvel artist, famed for drawing Spider-Man, will join RTÉ’s Home School Hub with a new feature - learn how to draw.
When schools were originally shut last month due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Will started a #WeWillDraw innovative on social media, encouraging kids to draw.
An RTÉ spokesperson said Will has done 10 five-minute shorts for the show and has created two special characters which he will teach kids how to draw.
This section will feature in the show from tomorrow, Easter Monday.
“We Will Draw is not just about teaching you how to create amazing art, it's about teaching you how to tell stories through these drawings,” said Will.
“We are going to create some amazing characters and go on a journey with them, learning loads of drawing tips and tricks along the way.”
RTÉ Home School Hub continues every weekday on RTÉ2 at 11am, with a catch-up programme later in the day, RTÉ Home School Extra at 4.15pm, where primary school kids from all over the country can reconnect by uploading and posting video messages.
