Coffee chain Insomnia to expand into UK in Debenhams partnership

Irish coffee company Insomnia is set to move into the UK market in a partnership with UK and Irish retail giant Debenhams.

The coffee company recently opened its first Debenhams partnership in Cork's Mahon Point Shopping Centre, and is now planning its first stores across the Irish Sea in Rugby and Bradford.

The first Insomnia coffee shop opened in a Galway bookshop in 1997. It now operates on a franchise model for its coffee shops, in addition to partnerships with brands including Spar, Eason books, Meadows and Byrne, and Heatons.

ā€œWe’re very proud to announce this new partnership with Debenhams which will see us open our first UK outlets later this summer,ā€ said Bobby Kerr, Chairman of Insomnia.

ā€œAs a market leader with an exciting portfolio of lifestyle brands, Debenhams is a natural home for Insomnia. The cosy seating and relaxed atmosphere of our stores will offer tired customers the chance to properly unwind with a cup of our finest premium coffee after a hard day’s shopping.ā€
