“Because we’re in a newer build with a lot of insulation, we don’t really touch our thermostat, and I make sure to turn appliances like the cooker off at the socket,” she says. “We also schedule our laundry for offpeak hours, such as the afternoons or nights, to benefit from lower tariffs with the plan we are on.”
