Man dies after being struck by train on Cork–Mallow line

A man has died after being struck by a train on the rail line between Cork City and Mallow.
The incident happened at approximately 4.40pm on Thursday.
All train services between Cork and Mallow have been suspended.
Some 164 passengers were on board the train, which was the 2pm Dublin-to-Cork service.
They will be transferred from the scene by another train, Irish Rail confirmed.
Bus transfers are operating between Kent Railway Station in Cork City and Mallow, where passengers can connect with onward services.
Emergency services remain at the scene.
The area will be sealed for a garda investigation and is not expected to reopen for several hours.
