US military transfers 150 Islamic State group detainees from Syria to Iraq

The US military says it has begun transferring detainees from the so-called Islamic State (IS) group who were held in northeastern Syria to Iraq to ensure they remain in secure facilities.

US Central Command said the transfer began on Wednesday and so far 150 IS members have been taken from Syria’s northeastern province of Hassakeh to “secure locations” in Iraq.
