Asia shares jump as US stocks soar after Trump pauses most tariffs

Asian shares surged in early Thursday trading, with Japan’s benchmark jumping more than 2,000 points almost immediately after the Tokyo exchange opened.

The jump came as investors welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to back off on most of his tariffs.
