Pakistan and IMF reach deal to release $1.1bn from bailout fund

Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have reached a preliminary agreement for the release of $1.1bn (€1.01m) from a $3bn (€2.78bn) bailout following talks in Islamabad, the IMF said.
Under the deal, Pakistan will receive the final tranche from the bailout that was approved by the IMF last July to save the nation from defaulting on its debt repayments.
